Indi families

Homeschoolers, tutors, and families share one Module. Either of you can create Echo, Spark, or Flux in Lab. Assigned packs and private packs both appear in Playground.

What Indi is

Indi is the family and tutor package. Work lives in Modules (topic shelves). Homeschoolers, private tutors, and independent learners practise in Echo, Spark, and Flux. Indi Parents and Indi Learners both use Lab and Playground — learners often create their own practice, not only packs someone assigned.

Indi does not include marking, pastoral, or timetable tools. Lab shows Echo, Spark, and Flux, then Foundry and Trace under In Testing — acknowledge once, then use those two. Arcade, Jury, and Latch are not on the Indi Lab shelf.

Shared Module shelf

Start with a Module — for example a term topic or a subject week. The footer tabs are Lab → Playground → Revision → Workshop. Practice from Lab goes to Playground. Proper assessment goes to Workshop.

If you are an Indi Parent

  1. Open your household class and create or open a Module.
  2. In the Module footer, open Lab. Choose Echo, Spark, or Flux (or Foundry under In Testing).
  3. Choose Practice (usual at home) or Proper assessment. On assessments, Socrates is off unless you allow one or two consultations. Tick Allow Oracle if the learner may use Oracle during the task.
  4. Assign the pack. You see it under Playground → Assigned practice. The learner sees it under From your parent.
  5. Open Playground to check Done / Not started, open Results, or Remove a pack (it stays recoverable for a short time).
  6. Super Loop: assign from Lab (tick Super Loop and set the class day) to add a lesson to the learner’s sequence. You can also watch it on Playground. Learners can still start a preview themselves or add an Echo they already sat.

Success looks like this: the learner opens From your parent and works independently, and Learner private practice shows packs they built themselves in Lab.

If you are an Indi Learner

You can complete packs a parent assigned — or open Lab yourself and create practice for the Module you are in. Many households expect Learners to build their own Echo, Spark, or Flux when they know what to revise.
  1. Open the Module, then Lab (same create tools your parent uses).
  2. Create an Echo, Spark, or Flux pack. Save it as Practice / private practice so it stays yours. For Super Loop, use Start preview for next lesson on Lab or Playground — or add an Echo you already sat.
  3. Open it from Playground → Your practice. Packs someone assigned to you appear under From your parent.
  4. In Echo, a wrong answer may offer a short upskill and one Socrates retry, then you move on.
  5. Optional: Module Revision builds one recap (Echo quiz or Spark short answers) from tasks already on the Module.

Super Loop (optional)

Super Loop is an optional study habit built on Echo — not required. Everyday Echo still works any time as an MCQ pack with an optional learning video.

The Playground section header shows the cycle (Preview → Lesson → Review → Next). Each lesson you add is an expandable row underneath. Everyday Echo stays an ordinary pack unless you add it to the loop. On Indi, a parent can assign a Loop lesson from Lab (tick Super Loop, set the class day), and Learners can still start their own preview or add an Echo they already sat. Use the × on a lesson row to take it out of Super Loop — the Echo pack stays in Playground. Parents watch that sequence on Playground, including when it is still empty. School classes work differently — the teacher authors one sequence for the whole class (Lab → Echo, tick Super Loop).

  1. Preview — from 3.00 pm the day before class: watch the learning video, then sit the preview MCQs. Packs with a lesson date stay hidden until that time.
  2. Lesson — the class itself. Each lesson has its own row; the date is the class day.
  3. Review — after class, regenerate the questions on the same pack and sit them again.
  4. Next — Super Loop starts the preview for the following lesson.

Oracle and Socrates at home

  • Oracle is in the Module footer. Parents can turn it on or off for the class; each task can allow or lock Oracle.
  • Socrates is the coach inside Spark, Flux, and short Echo retries — separate from Oracle.
  • Fission and Sentinel are not part of Indi. Keep pastoral or moderation notes elsewhere if you need them.
